Work Noise Measurements
Work noise measurements aim to record the sound exposure of workers and to compare it with the legislated limits (2003/10 EU).
Acoustic Science performs work noise measurements using certified and calibrated high-precision equipment (Class 1 – Type I Sound level meter and noise dosimeter with data logging). After conducting measurements our company is able to study and treat any problematic situation.
Environmental Noise Measurements
Environmental noise measurements usually aim to record outdoor noise produced from noisy plants (building mechanical equipment, industrial facilities), road traffic, railway traffic or even airport sources.
The purpose of environmental noise measurements is usually to compare their results with the allowed limits. The plant noise limits are defined in PD 1180/11 while traffic noise limits are defined in Greek MR ministerial regulation 211773.

Sound Insulation Measurements
Sound insulation measurements aim to determine the Sound Reduction Index or Sound Level Difference between two existing enclosures. The purpose is usually to compare an existing condition with the requirement of the Greek Building Regulation or other special building specifications.
Acoustic Science performs room acoustics measurements using certified and calibrated high-precision equipment (Class 1 – Type I Sound Level Meters – Real-time analyzers with building acoustics option) and appropriate noise generators (white – pink noise) for sound exciting.
Room Acoustics Measurements
The measurements of room acoustic properties are conducted by recording the room reverberation and other parameters that express the quality of sound in an enclosure with high standards (theatre, auditorium, conference room, call center e.t.c.). The purpose is usually to compare the results with the acoustics requirements of international bibliography and good practice.
Acoustic science performs room acoustics measurements using certified and calibrated high-precision equipment (Class 1 – Type I Sound Level Meter – Real-time analyzers with building acoustics analysis capabilities) and appropriate noise generators (white – pink noise) for sound exciting. The measured quantities are analyzed using special software so that conclusions concerning the enclosure’s properties and its declination from optimum acoustic conditions can derive.
Work Vibrations Measurements
Work vibrations measurements are conducted in order to record the level of vibrations that machinery operators receive in their hands and body. The measurements aim to compare the vibration levels with applicable legislated limits (PD 176/2005 and 2002/44/EU).
Acoustic Science performs hand-arm vibration measurements and whole-body vibration measurements using special data logging equipment and three-dimensional accelerometers.
Machine – Building – Ship vibration measurements
Machine – building – ship vibration measurements are usually conducted for precautionary maintenance or fault diagnosis. Building vibration measurements are conducted in structures with strict standards concerning vibration levels (old – preserved buildings, museums, laboratories or residences near railroads, etc). Ship vibration measurements are conducted in order to certify comfort conditions according to international standards.
Acoustic science conducts any type of vibration measurements using special vibration recorders and one-dimensional or three-dimensional sensitive accelerometers suitable for any application.
Fitness Center Noise Measurements
Fitness center noise measurements are conducted in order to issue the certificate of non-disturbance, as required for the authorization of fitness centers in Greece. Measurements are realized inside the fitness center and at the neighboring properties (if the fitness center is detached, then the measurements are conducted on the boundary of the fitness center property) recording the necessary data to judge the disturbance or non-disturbance.
Vehicle Technical Inspections Center Noise Measurements
Noise measurements in Vehicle Technical Inspections Centers are conducted in order to issue licenses for motorcycle control lines, according to circular FAO/55783/4302. During the licensing procedure, appropriate measurements should be performed so as to justify the suitability of the center to conduct exhaust noise test measurements during its operation.
